Our Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre launched in November 2014 and has proved to be a lifeline for many. Struggling with debt? Call this freephone number: 0800 328 0006 and an appointment will be made for our centre manager to visit you to begin the process of turning your life around.
Over a series of visits to you, our centre manager will collate the paperwork for all your debt and will liaise with the CAP head office. Head office work with your creditors to stop them contacting you. Head office takes the pressure away from you. They work out a budget for you which, although challenging, is achievable. Then, provided you pay your money into your bank account, your creditors get paid and life gets so much better.
But our CAP Debt Centre is so much more than that. We are interested in the whole YOU. We have a team of befrienders who can come alongside you to listen, support and journey with you through life's difficulties.
We do this because we know, firsthand, how the power of God can transform lives. We will offer to pray with you and share with you what our faith in God is all about. How you can experience peace, joy and forgiveness.
Take the first step now. Call the freephone number: 0800 328 0006 and make a positive change in your life.

Reflections on being a befriender, by Ruth Woods
Could you do what I do? I am an 81 year old befriender for CAP!
I love the involvement with CAP. You may ask "What does that involve?" Well, not too much really! You need to have a love for people, a loving heart, to be a listener, to give support to the client and to Jane and a desire to bring more people to Salvation by showing them love, compassion and hope for the future. It also includes keeping contact with the client either by phone or perhaps meeting them for a coffee and a chat so that the client doesn't feel forgotten after being visited. Food shopping for a client may be required, depending on the circumstances.
I personally feel blessed looking back on my own life for what God has done for me in my walk with Him and that is why I feel the need to help others. The Bible passage that comes to mind is Matthew chapter 25 verse 40:
I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.
I feel so blessed that God uses me in this way. So if I can do it, perhaps with God's blessing you can too!
