Safe Families For Children

Safe Families For Children Logo trans 250pxIn January 2016 we were pleased to link with the organisation Safe Families For Children!

Working to improve the outcomes for children and families going through a crisis, Safe Families For Children recruits, trains and supports volunteers who get alongside a family to offer the support they need.

As a Safe Families Church it is our aim to build a network of support to care for children and parents facing a temporary crisis.

SFFC October 2016 trans 2People within the church get involved in one, or more, of the following roles:

Being a host family

Trustworthy families take children into their loving homes, giving the parents much needed space to deal with the pressing issues.

Being a family friend

Friendly folk who befriend, mentor and support parents through their crisis, helping them get back on their feet and making the home stable for them and their children.

Being a resource friend

Generous supporters who find they are able to provide useful goods or skills to benefit families in need, such as a cot, clothing or helping with cooking or gardening.

Being a family coach

Skilled individuals able to offer support and experience to help families make the necessary changes and help our volunteers provide the right kind of care and support.

How about you?

In February 2016 we were pleased to commission in a Sunday morning service our first volunteers in their new role with Safe Families For Children.

If one, or more, of the roles outlined above is of interest to you, please contact our Outreach Worker Phil Brown who will be pleased to take you through the next steps.

Together, we can introduce Jesus to people facing crisis and change lives forever!
