On a beautiful Sunday afternoon when folks could be outside enjoying the weather, we were blessed to know that they preferred spending time with us!
A calm and good humoured afternoon followed. Before the start of the meeting we prayed for the welfare of all those known to us re the ongoing problem with legal highs/spice. Despite recent legislation nothing seems to have changed. It really is such a destructive concoction that is smoked and so detrimental to health and well being.
I brought the thought for the day for the first time in a long time and I spoke about the parable of the prodigal son. It seemed to be well received and questions were asked following a round of applause! I wanted to re-assure our friends that their heavenly Father would always be glad to welcome them home, regardless......
On Thursday it is the funeral of a young man who lost his life after being knocked down by a car in the early hours. It is less than two weeks since the previous funeral for another young man that I worked with at Tesco when he had just left school.......I was so sad to see the direction that his life had taken.
Thank you so much for the great catering by St Peters Weston Favel. Rather scrummy cakes! Next week we look forward to seeing our friends from Living Grace church who will be catering for us.
Thank you as always for your prayer and practical support. We are also glad to receive hygiene products, wet wipes etc as they are always in great demand!
