A post Christmas lull saw about a dozen guests arrive for a wonderful New Year spread laid on by The Potter's House Church with plenty left over to take away. There was the luxury of more time available too for conversations in a calm pleasant atmosphere.
There were some new faces and interest was expressed in coming on a Tuesday evening too.
Thank you for the warm clothes and many donations made over Christmas allowing us to supply the needed protection against the cold damp weather conditions. The theme for today was that God is able to give us more than we can ask or think and was based on the account of Peter and Paul, who, when asked for money, were able to provide much more than he could have ever anticipated by healing his lameness.
This is the first day of 2017, the beginning of the rest of our lives and we were encouraged to commit our lives to the God who can do more for us than we can ask or think.
One of the Street Church members said what a good day they had had, and added that without volunteers there would be no Street Church, so a big "Thank you" to all who contribute to the work in whatever way.
We look forward to another year in which we see God working greatly amongst our friends at Street Church. Next week Mount Zion will be catering and it is the first pampering session of the new year.
Please keep praying, and watch this space. For more information about Street Church and how you can get involved, click here to go to our website.
Blessings for a wonderful year in 2017,
The Street Church team.
